Twin Rack Mounting procedure
The twin rack is designed to mount down low on the boat. The two locations which work best is the rear teak swim deck and the rear side gunwale.
Rear Teak Swim Deck: This mount location is best for wake skates and surf boards because you won't have a lot of room to put on a wake board. Don't forget that the rack can be removed in under 30 seconds with no tools leaving only the mounting plate and open swim deck. Figure out the best location for the size of the boards you plan on securing (usually the middle) and simple drill ((4) 1/4 " holes in the rear wood deck and attach the backing bracket and mounting plate (hardware included). This should only take you 10 -15 minutes with a cordless drill. (If you have the skills and a router, I have seen where the installer recessed the bracket into the teak deck.)
Side Gunwale mount: This mounts on the top of the fiberglass back by the rear cleat. Open up the side compartments and look to see if any wires or hoses are in the way of drilling. Figure out where the best location for the rack is and use the template for marking the holes. Make sure that there is enough room under the gunwale for the backing plate. Only when you are" absolutely" sure that everything is where it needs to be and everything fits, drill the (4) ¼" holes and bolt the mounting plate in place.
This really isn't that difficult as long as you take your time. If you are not comfortable drilling a hole in your boat, then I suggest checking with your boat dealer to see if they will install it. Again, it should only take a few minutes to install after you have figured out where you want to mount it.
Don't forget the rack removes from the bracket and only a 3/16 thick rounded aluminum bracket is left.
Single Rack Tower mount procedure
The mount fits tubing from 1 ¼"to 2". The rack should be mounted on top of the tower at a 45-degree angle leaning towards the center of the tower. This will make it easy to remove and secure the board. Find location and tighten the (4) screws.
